rough notes

little thoughts

with 2 comments

it was pretty hot this weekend, which i love.  it reminds me of the summers i knew in a previous life.  at one point this weekend i actually called my flat, ‘the funfirmary,’ in honour a a certain place and a certain time.

i don’t normally like tv.  i wish i did.  i think i have a hangup about all the commercials and having to wait six days and 23 hours to see if the cliffhanger i’m expecting to happen will actually happen.  but last year, i really dug on Fringe.  and right now (in fact, in just mere moments will i) i’m digging Defying Gravity. in spite of its insipid monologue-cum-lectures and score, i’m liking how sci-fi has been watered down enough for the masses but without ditching so many of the typical philosophy-lite storylines typical of scifi.  however, i fear i won’t be able to keep up with either in two or three weeks when school starts up again.

great lakes beaches are nothing like coastal beaches.

it’s funny how wordpress has made it’s name by being all about open source at the expense of Movable Type and Blogger.  However, to the end-user, WP it known mostly for its WP.com platform, which is locked down for reasonable security purposes.  Add to the fact that Blogger allows all sorts of modifications to its themes and i fear that WP.com may be doomed to secondary blog CMS status forever.

  1. What about TV on DVD?

I love TV. But only on DVD. And also in the future, when it’s all on demand, and ads have been replaced by totally ridiculous product placement.

    • yes, on DVD is the way to go. If only I could convince the public library to lend them to me for a month at a time though..
