rough notes

My life has returned to the digital.

After nearly a week consumed by corrugated cardboard and cleansing agents, i’m allowing myself to settle in at The New Place tonight by chilling out in front of the tv with a beer. The New Place is new in the sense that it is newer that the old place, but it is not new in any other sense of the word. My old flat was in a building that may or may not have been a heritage property, but either way it was dated to around the turn of the 19th century into the 20th c.  Since i’m in the North End now, everything has a date somewhat more recent than that. My house is just across the road from the actual Hydrostone properties (dated 1919-20, thereabouts), but it certainly isn’t that old. It still has enough character to call it a home instead of a residence though, which is nice.

i’m also being housebound tonight.  this week was killer, so aside from the beer, i’m doing loads of laundry and now baking brownies.  brownies from a box.  awesome.  not for me, but for les houseguests.  The Pineapples’ friends probably deserve more than this box of Duncan Hines (or was it Better Crocker?) can offer, but there’s only so much I can do with an oven.
