Sandy Koufax

Sandy Koufax, left-handed, Jewish pitcher for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers (1955-1966).

Sandy famously refused to pitch the first game of the 1965 World Series because it fell on Yom Kippur.

He also had a lifetime ERA of 2.76, which is a mean feat in and of itself.
